Big Brother is very much alive in contemporary London as evidenced by:- Ubiquitous CCTV cameras, even in McDonald's bathrooms, with monitor screens displaying bathrooms to the eating area.
- The recording and access to one's public transport journey history as recorded on the Oyster card.
- The need to carry Photo ID everywhere.
- The overuse of sirens by cops around town.
